Rob Denovan Contemporary Scottish Artist

Born in Kirkcaldy, in the Kingdom of Fife, Scotland. The family moved to Stirling where Rob attended primary and secondary school, and eventually studied at Falkirk College where among other subjects he studied Art.

Rob has always been interested in Art even from a young age and when he went to secondary school Rob was given encouragement to consider art college, "although I was offered a chance I chose to start work instead"

Instead of the Glasgow School of Art , Rob decided to get a job, and started working in the catering industry. After a number of years as a Chef / Manager, Rob decided to look at his art again and took the plunge with very encouraging results.

Rob has been working full-time as an artist for a few years now,and enjoys every day of it .

With a number of solo exhibitions and group exhibitions under his belt and quite a number of watercolour and oil paintings in private collections, mainly in the UK, he is steadily gaining a following for his artwork.

Although Robs' artworks are quite varied in style, and both Contemporary and Traditional, he loves the contemporary approach and is influenced by the Scottish Colourists.

Rob continues to take his inspiration from the dramatic landscape and coastlines of Scotland, the ever changing light and weather provide endless magical painting opportunities for the artist.
